The Band

The Gizard
Bass |
Dan Haig wears many hats in life, but none more important than the founder and webmaster for www.tibet.org. In an ongoing project that began in 1995 during a meeting with the Tibetan Computer Resource Center in Dharamsala, Dan has almost singlehandedly revolutionized computer communication in the Tibetan Diaspora. Oh yeah, he also sounds like Entwistle if you give him a nice bass rig!

Jama
Lead Guitar
|
Tom Haig spent his first seven years after college traveling the world as a professional stunt diver, but in a horrible twist of irony, broke his back in 1996 on a simple mountain bike ride. His legs' loss proved to be The Khampas gain as all that performing energy has gone right into lead guitar. Now living in Portland, Oregon Tom still hits the road as often as he can including a four-month stay in Dharamsala in 2000 where he wrote several Khampa classics.

Jonny B.
Drums |
On the outside you might see a staid family man living in the suburbs of Milwaukee, but toss him a couple of drum sticks and you'll see a man with a passion and a mission. Jon Bodner's years around the Chicago music scene have served him well as not only can he lay down rolls for anything, but he can blast out silky smooth vocals while he's workin' that kit into a frenzy.

Bagus
Keyboards |
After 8 award winning seasons as one of the Bay Area's most prolific and effective web producers (3 Webby Award winning sites!), Bagus Haig migrated his talents down to The Crescent City where he picked up some of the nastiest funk grooves that the N'awlins scene has to offer. Katrina kicked him out to Denver where he's mounting The Krewe de Groove. He also has an encyclopedia's worth of cover tunes at his fingertips so if you go by his room late at night you might catch anything from Van Morrison to Mexican Salsa!

Toys
Anything |
Karl Landwehr has lent his sax prowess to dozens of Milwaukee's finest outfits and can easily slide into any instrument on the stage. His work as a sound engineer has placed him in the sound booth not only at major concert venues, but also Major League Baseball, NCAA Football and professional boxing. He is rumoured to have tripped over a wire in Bismark, North Dakota only to stand up and find himself face to face with Don King!
|

Goother
Rhythm Guitar
|
After a dozen years playing with Dead cover bands and jam bands in Cleveland, John Goldthwaite has recently migrated back to Milwaukee where he first ran into The Khampas - long before most of them had ever picked up an instrument. Goother's rhythm lock and dewey sweet backing vocals set the platform from which The Khampas blast off. Don't be surprised when you hear the group dress up some of his original material too!

Ox
Hedgetrimmer
|
Yeah - go ahead - YOU tell him that the hedgetrimmer isn't an instrument!

"Do you really think I care, What you read or what you wear, I want you to join together with the band, There's a million ways to laugh, And every one's a path, Come on and join together with the band."
