The Gizard

home
two trees grew
by the side of the hill
in the good old days
before the sun turned up
he had a story to tell
about a rolling rock
wailing a welcome
in the evening rain
stars flew out
from an ocean of waves
riding the forest
to another time
this is the place
where they came to
and sang out a song
to remember home
and stardust gleamed
right between their eyes
lighting the way
and flooding the night
now what they saw
and what they dreamed
all came together
by the side of the stream
some couldn't take it
and wandered away
some couldn't leave it
they decided to stay
this is the place
where they came to
and sang out a song
to remember home
come the tide to relate them
to each other once again
have to wonder why it happened
forgotten how, forgotten when
all the times, all the places
all the lovers, all the friends
all the things that they died for
all the things that had to end
coming in for a landing
on the coast's forgotten shore
leaving all of their troubles
where they found them long ago
now you got lives
and you got dreams
you can put them together
if you know what I mean
nobody's here
when nobody cares
don't go looking
for what isn't there
this is the place
if you'll come to
we can all be together
if you'll come home

"Do you really think I care, What you read or what you wear, I want you to join together with the band, There's a million ways to laugh, And every one's a path, Come on and join together with the band."
